There’s an old wives tale about love that goes like “When you know, you know,” but if I’m being sincere – I do not find that true. Why not grow in love?
Relationships are much like potted plants; if you forget to water them, they wilt, and if you water too much, they drown. It’s all about finding that happy balance.
When I was younger and less wise, I often obsessed with the phrase, “When you know, you know.” Well, I hate to break it to you all. I don’t know, and I don’t know if I will ever fully.
When you truly fall in love, it should feel like a long dance. He takes my hand, and we waltz into harmony. Sure, you both ought to miss a few steps along the way, but you trust the destination at the end of the day.
There should be natural ease of love and subtle hints that they have your back. After all, love is a choice. We must choose to love every day. Remember to do all things with love, and when it pulls you in closer, never let it go. Truly, madly, love is the most sacred feeling.
And if I had to choose, I’d want a slow-burn type of love. One that fades into me slowly – as time passes, you begin to feel the comfort of a warm light peering in. This love is safe, like the soft ambiance of a beautiful melody playing in the background. This love begins to feel like home.
Sweetly,
Samantha
