The feeling of a heart throbbing in your chest. Actual pain that forms sporadically. Aching around one of the most critical organs in the body. Pulsating into an attack on your emotions as you lie awake at night. Tears begin to drop out of my eyes, I weep into my bedspread as my tears cover the pillow with black mascara staining the linens.
Life sometimes forces you to move on and evolve at a very young age—the burden of carrying a promise and a choice. The notion of being strong for others and letting each other ache as we choose.
We must be able to build each other up, creating peace as we all grieve together. The latest heartwrenching acts this world has taken in the past few months have been astronomical. As a blanket of warmth surrounds us, it is soon ripped off by more destruction. Pain is in all shapes and forms. We are all hurting from something, yet why do we ignore it?
The rupture slowly begins when a heart cannot merely take any more damage. The ache and the pain will always be followed by bellowed outcries. We need help. We need love.
With love surrounding us, we know that we are wanted, cared for, and heard. I can only pray that we will see the light that shines down upon us. Life is so precious, yet we take it for granted. Why is that? We tend to think that life is replaceable. That is selfish.
The truth of the matter is, people can only take so much. We must stand up to discrimination, bullying, and mental health awareness. Together as one world, we need to take care of others and pick them up when they are down.
Stand up for what you believe. Stand up for your friends, morals, and most importantly, yourself.
Together, we will get through this.
Sweetly,
Samantha
