“Love is not about how many times you say I love you but how much you prove that it is true.”
To the ones who are lonely today,
Remember that February 14th is just another day out of the calendar year. Today marks a special day for people to honor someone they love. Because of this, it doesn’t mean you NEED to be in a relationship.
What if we used Valentine’s Day to honor the relationship we have with ourselves?
Much better.
Today we honor trusting the process of our own life’s timing, Celebrating our personal growth, and appreciating the life we live. We are so grateful to be breathing. Many people didn’t get so lucky.
To the ones who are missing someone today:
I’m so sorry for your loss. May that be from death, a breakup, or just lack of communication with someone you once loved is troubling. Heartbreak is never easy. However, life isn’t meant to be easy. After all, no good story started with roses and dandelions.
As someone who struggles with mental health, today should be solely on taking care of yourself.
This is your life, so do whatever you need to be happy!!
May that be:
- Staying off social media
- Buying enormous amounts of chocolate
- Watching movies
- Spending time with friends
- Staying in and relaxing
TODAY IS YOUR DAY SO INDULGE!!
Don’t buy into all the gimmicks you see today. Focus on yourself and have a great day no matter the circumstance. In my eyes, you’ll never get today back, so live it to your fullest.
As for myself,
For the first time in my life, I have felt peace with myself. Feeling peace with being single, working on my mental health, and focusing on my future. These past few months, I have been so obsessed with my happiness that I have not even thought about looking for anyone because I have faith it’ll just work out whatever that may be.
All of these things are so important to me.
I plan to spend my day joyful and surrounded by my best friends. (That doesn’t mean I won’t stuff my face with yummy chocolates because why not)
If you are in a relationship:
No, I didn’t forget about you all –
Enjoy your partner, celebrate your relationship, and don’t forget to appreciate them for being themselves. This day is to embrace the love we share in all aspects of our lives.
My last piece of advice,
If you know someone who is struggling today, don’t hesitate to reach out to them, you could be just what they needed.
So Happy February 14th, everyone!!
Xoxo,
Sweetly Samantha
